Frequently Asked Questions

What makes your company different?

We are locally owned and founded and we are passionate about helping our students! Our tutors are able to offer a higher level of service than “big box” or franchise locations, so you get more for your investment. We also offer personalized lesson plans and resources, because your student is unique!

Who are your tutors?

Our tutors are current or former educators or professionals in their field. All tutors undergo an extensive interview process and background check. Our tutors are the best around! Visit our website at www.mpowertutoring.com/ourteam for tutor bios.

What can I expect while working with a tutor?

Your tutor will provide you with personalized suggestions and a plan to address your student’s specific needs. After each lesson, you will receive a lesson summary documenting what was covered during the lesson, any problems that came up, and proposals for the future.

Where do you hold lessons?

Our tutors meet with parents and students at locations that are convenient for them, including public libraries, Starbucks, or Panera. Occasionally, tutors will meet at a student’s home if all parties agree.

How often do we meet with a tutor?

The frequency of lessons is totally up to you. The majority of our students benefit from meeting twice a week initially, then transitioning to once a week, and finally just as needed. Experience has shown that most students are able to catch up, get ahead, and stay ahead after only a few weeks!

How much do lessons cost? What is included?

With each lesson, you get 60 min with a tutor who is matched to your student’s needs and your schedule, personalized lesson resources, and unlimited contact with a tutor after your lesson!

Check out our Service Menu for more information! We also sell packages of lessons if you are interested in meeting more than once!

What ages and subjects do you cover?

We work with students of all ages, K-12 as well as college and adult students. Currently, we cover mathematics at all levels, elementary education, physics, chemistry, and language arts subjects. We also offer essay editing and fact checking, test corrections, and general study and homework skills.
